учет, гос. фин. = recapture of depreciation* * *. When tangible personal property is sold, the tax gain is based on the difference between the asset's adjusted basis and the selling price. Any gain up to the amount of depreciation taken is deemed depreciation recapture and taxed as ordinary income. Example - Madison bought a machine for $10,000. Five years later its adjusted basis is $4,000. Madison sells the asset for $9,000. The gain is $5,000, all of which is depreciation recapture. If Madison sold the asset for $11,000, it would have $6,000 in depreciation recapture (ordinary income) and $1,000 of capital gain. CAUTION. The rules for real property are more complicated. . 13 capital gains tax
Fina tax on the difference between the gross acquisition cost and the net proceeds when an asset is sold. In the United Kingdom, this tax also applies when assets are given or exchanged, although each individual has an annual capital gains tax allowance that exempts gains within that tax year below a stated level. In addition, certain assets may be exempt, for example, a person’s principal private residence and transfers of assets between spouses, and the tax may not be levied on the absolute gain. An adjustment is made for inflation and the length of time that the asset has been held. There are also concessions on the sale of a business at retirement.Abbr. CGT -
14 capacity usage variance
Finthe difference in gain or loss in a given period compared to budgeted expectations, caused because the hours worked were longer or shorter than planned the type of fixed asset purchased, for example, whether it is machinery or buildings. This system effectively removes subjectivity from the calculation of depreciation for tax purposes. -
